After five awesome sessions of Super Summer, a great YEC, speaking at Progressive Hearts Youth Camp, and sending over 180 SS students to Tokyo for SuperSummerGlobal I am finally back home with my family. Though I was on the road a lot I did get to travel with each of my 3 older children to different weeks of SS and camp. This proved to be a wonderful way to really connect with my kids one on one. It is such a different dynamic when you are with them alone as opposed to with their siblings. I didn't have to scold and play peace maker all day, but instead got to have good talks and really get to know them. I highly recommend if given the opportunity...and if you don't have that opportunity try to make one...it is worth it!
I started preaching regularly at The Oaks Baptist in Grand Prairie a few months ago as their interim preacher and I am really enjoying that. I'm probably learning much more than I'm teaching, but it is wonderfully rewarding. Though I want them to find a full time Pastor I honestly hope they take their time doing so. I forgot how much blessing I receive from teaching on a regular basis. (For those of you who have asked: you can find the messages on itunes if you search for The Oaks or my name.)
God continues to teach me so much...I don't have the time to get into everything now however. Laura is traveling with her parents to Ohio and I'm taking care of the kids...it's nearing dinner time. Yes, I welcome your pity, its a tough job...I look forward to going back to work so I can get some rest!
